Welcoming Kaleidoscope
We kicked off our brand new Kaleidoscope group in April with our very first session!
Canongate Youth is excited to welcome Kaleidoscope, a new group for young people aged 12–16 who have an autism diagnosis or self-identify as autistic. The group has been created to provide a welcoming and supportive space where young people can build confidence, develop new skills, and meet like-minded people.
During the first session, young people spent time getting to know each other, setting group boundaries, and beginning to build connections. It was great to see everyone already mixing, chatting, and getting involved from the start, with a really positive atmosphere throughout the evening.
The group, led by youth workers Shona and Hannah, officially launched on 23rd April 2026 and will run over the next 24 weeks. They have lots of exciting activities planned to make sessions fun, engaging, and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Throughout the programme, young people will have opportunities to explore new activities, work together, and grow in confidence at their own pace. We’re really looking forward to seeing the group continue to develop over the coming months and can’t wait to see the friendships and achievements that come from the journey ahead.
