  • CY puts all our income into serving and supporting young people, as we have for 50 years.  We are a non-profit organisation, a registered charity and work hard to ensure that every penny is counted and deployed in the most effective way possible. Have a look at our recent accounts here. This diligence means we don’t make generic, up front promises about where we will spend your donation: needs change constantly and, crucially, so do the funding priorities of trusts, foundations, and local and national government.  If you need to know more then please do contact us when planning your donation – we can let you know current needs and pressures and chat about your specific priorities. 

  • Yes!  Giving time, presence, and skills makes a huge impact. You can find out more here [Can’t remember – are we doing a volunteering page? Or volunteer bit on the Work with us page?] Volunteers in CY take up various roles from youth work, to trustees, to practical and admin work.  But get in touch – we may not consider how we could use your trapeze skills until you contact us... 

  • Sometimes... It always feels rude to say no to generosity, but the fact is we don’t have lots of space and storage, so we have to be strict with ourselves about what “will come in handy one day”.  There can also be constraints to using new equipment if there are safety or insurance issues, for example. 

    So, we always appreciate people thinking of us but don’t be offended that the specifics may or may not work out this time. If you have something you think would be good for CY then contact us with details about what it is and any time frames or logistics. We’ll be glad to hear from you. 

  • Yes. Our work in the community is all about relationships so we value relationships around our giving too. Get in touch and we will be glad to talk through what you’re thinking. We can decide what is a good fit and how to mark it together.

  • Yes. The website giving mechanism is brilliant for small gifts, and the low fees charged on the transactions save CY’s own admin costs. But larger, donations, for example, can make those % fees quite large, and you may prefer to make a direct transfer. For this, or other reasons, just get in touch and we can discuss the best route.
